The First Coat of Beahr Deck Over.

Devon and Zach, our grandsons, spent a lot of time preparing the deck for stain or finish when they were here in June. It was a huge job. There were also a lot of projects going on with the playhouse and watering ditches for the cedars, so we didn't have a chance to purchase the finishing product to put on the deck. The grands and I did look at products and applications on the internet. We showed the how to videos to Terry. He was impressed with the products available that would keep us from having to replace a bunch of boards.

Our youngest son got a huge splinter in his foot from this deck, so we knew we had to either sand it majorly or encapsulate the splinters. This is something Beahr Deck Over is known for.

When I got up day before yesterday, I used the power washer to clean off this deck so that it would be dry when Terry got home. (as per his instructions lol) When he got home, it was well over 100 degrees outside. The deck was much hotter than that. We had to postpone the work until the temperature was under 90 degrees. The paint/finish gets super thick and jelly-like when it is too hot.

This morning he got up at dawn and put the first coat on. He thinks it will take two more coats. We will see. It is already so much better, don't you think?
